Patrick Ta

Makeup artist Patrick Ta has an uncompromising devotion to all things beauty. Born in San Diego, California, Patrick’s devotion to his craft has allowed him to develop a refined hand and keen eye for color and composition. After spending some time working at MAC Cosmetics in Arizona, Patrick moved to Los Angeles to pursue an independent career as a freelance makeup artist. He quickly captured the attention of many young celebrities who would soon become his top clients. Within his first year in Los Angeles, Patrick’s passion and talent for the art of makeup has introduced him to clients such as Shay Mitchell, Jessica Alba, Joan Smalls, Camilla Alves, Kendall Jenner, Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Cara Delevinge, Padma Laksmhi, Olivia Culpo among others.

Cynthia Rivas

Out of all the top makeup artists in Los Angeles, Cynthia Rivas is our personal favorite! She is currently one of our instructors at our LA makeup school and a Senior Artist at MAC Cosmetics when she’s not teaching classes. As a professional makeup artist, her technique consists of fusing Mexican tradition with modern makeup practices. She started her career at 19 years old where she was working for MAC and took every opportunity that they gave her along with freelancing to hone her skills and network her way red carpet clients. In 2012, she was promoted to her current position, Senior Artist for North America, twelve years after starting with the company. Cynthia has worked on various music videos and print, also enjoyed the experience of television and the high energy of fashion shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Milan. Cynthia continues to freelance globally and brings her knowledge and experience to the Chic Studios classroom. Cynthia’s clients include Calvin Klein, Oscar De La Renta, Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo, Monique Lhuillier, Balmain. David LaChapelle, Moschino, Blugirl, Gareth Pugh, Vogue It, Nordstrom, Latin Grammys, Univision and Telemundo to name a few.

Hung Vanngo

Nicknamed Hung Van Glow, his style of makeup has always been about skin and beauty. Hung Vanngo started his career in Canada and never stopped rising to the top.  Hung rarely shares details of his personal story, preferring instead to let his work do the talking. His creativity was inspired at a young age where he loved to sketch and paint. His devotion to art helped him develop a refined hand and keen eye for color and composition. Today, he’s working as a celebrity makeup artist for Hollywood’s elite like Selena Gomez and Kate Bosworth. He even shares his techniques with 700k followers on Instagram where he pushes the idea of natural and pure skin rather than an airbrushed finish.

Sarah Tanno

Celebrity makeup artist Sarah Tanno works closely with the most artistic person in the music industry today: Lady Gaga. As Lady Gaga’s personal makeup artist she has explored makeup traditions and built upon them creating looks that are soft and ethereal, glamorous and tantalizing, haunting and unique. As Lady Gaga’s official makeup artist, Sarah accompanies the artist on every single tour and does her makeup for every red carpet event, show, and magazine shoot.  Sarah was also responsible for conceptualizing/doing Gaga’s makeup as the Countess on American Horror Story Hotel. For this critically acclaimed collaboration, Sarah was awarded a 2016 Creative Arts Emmy as well as Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Award. Ever since starting out in makeup as a teenager in Cleveland, Ohio, Sarah was interested in Marc Beauty since she loved Marc Jacobs and his aesthetic in fashion and storytelling. In 2017, Marc Jacobs Beauty named her their Global Artistry Ambassador.
