Textured Brows

Fuller brows are in this season! Hooray! It’s all about creating dimension and adding texture (hence the name) to achieve this sophisticated natural looking brows. Brow gels work well with creating textured brows according to Benefit makeup artist Hannah Mutze. Worked this brow trend onto celebrities like Kaia Gerber, Zoe Kravitz and Margot Robbie. Use Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil (Sephora) as a good applicator for precise strokes. As a Chic reminder, use a spoolie brush to comb up the eyebrow hairs first, draw flicks of hair in empty spaces (or if you’re lacking in lots of hair, make a frame for your eyebrows and draw extra hairs there), and set it all with brow gel so it’s longer lasting. This feathered out brow look is great on any face and is sure to make you look more youthful!

Statement Eyes – Colored with Clean Skin

Enough said! Want to literally catch someone’s (or a lot more people’s) eye? These statement eyes would have people do a double take. This colorful, clean bold look is achieved for example with Jasmine Sanders at the 2018 CFDA Awards. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave her the bold blue Cobalt Smoky Eyes to wow the audience. To create the look, Hung Vanngo used products from Marc Jacobs Beauty line, including Eye-conic Eyeshadow Palette in Smartorial, Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon in Out Of The Blue, and Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. Don’t forget to prep and prime your face to make a clean canvas. Pair this outstanding look with nude lips and bronzer to accentuate the pop-out dazzling eyeshadow!

Exaggerated Cat Eye

There’s nothing more dramatic than the exaggerated cat eye look! This fierce dramatic artsy look would have an a-meow-zing effect. With out of the box thinking, makeup artist Vincent Oquendo took a very artistic turn by giving celebrity Sasha Lane a white exaggerated cat eye look with Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner in Pure White that’s arching above the creases- inspired by “Schiaparelli and the Artists.” It’s like something taken out from an art painting according to Lane.

Sparkle and Glitter!

Who doesn’t love a bit a sparkle and glitter to brighten their day? Of course makeup artists are no stranger to adding some spark to the eyes! Makeup artist Hung Vanngo glammed the look on stars like Bella Hadid by adding Marc Jacobs Beauty See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow , black eyeshadow, and black eyeliner to creating a very much exaggerated, glittery, smokey cat eye (2 trends in 1 how about that!). Hadid rocked the look to show some shimmery edge this fall awards season and VIP parties. Anyone with the sparkly look can feel like a rockstar! Which is why we are teaching our students at Chic Studios LA to be more on the edge with these new trendy makeup styles!
