Are you taking care of your skin?
As the summer continues to get hotter, it is important to remember to quench and hydrate your skin to achieve that perfect summer glow. A friendly reminder to always go for products that are gentle enough for everyday use. It is also important to understand your skin type, as products are not suitable for all. Below is a list of Chic’s favorite’s for getting fresh and hydrated skin.
Step 1 – Makeup Remover: This is the first step during a skincare routine for makeup lovers. This removes makeup, dirt and oil.
Chic’s Pick – Bioderma Micellar Water. This Micellar water uses a “no rinse” formula and cleanses impurities. All while soothing the skin for a healthier PH balance.
Step 2 – Facial Scrub: This is a great way to exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells. Using a facial scrub is recommended to be used 2 -3 times a week as daily use will irritate skin and strip it from natural oils, leaving skin dry.
Chic’s Pick – First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Polish. This exfoliant uses natural ingredients such as Shea Nut Shell Powder and Willow Bark Extract to make skin look smoother and brighter.
Step 3 – Facial Cleanser: This step ensures that pores stay unclogged and it helps with acne prone skin
Chic’s Pick – Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. Cetaphil uses a mild formula to deep clean the skin.
Step 4 – Toner: Used to refresh and rejuvenate without drying the skin.
Chic’s Pick – Bioderma Toni Lotion. This product is great for hydrating and toning
Step 5 – Serum, Mist/Essence. Using a serum can minimize the appearance of dark circles, brighten the skin, hydrate, and reduce wrinkles.

Step 6 – Moisturizer. This product should be applied t0 protect, moisturize, and lubricate the skin. This should be one of the first steps when applying makeup.
Chic’s Pick (Day) – Olay Total Effects Whip . This product contains SPF (necessary for sun protection). Use this during the day and it works by using Vitamin C and E to keep fresh moisture intact.
Chic’s Pick (Night) – Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair. Retinol is important to use before bedtime especially to aging skin because it can help to reduce wrinkles, brighten the skin, help with hyper-pigmentation and breakouts.
Step 7 – Eye Cream. This can reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles
Chic’s Pick – Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream. This product is collagen boosted, light weight, and made with Vitamin C.
